This article talks about how it’s a great time to buy right now in the Calgary real estate market. As there are so many listing coming on the market with a small percentage going off, there is an abundance of property to choose from. If a property is priced well, it will sell quickly, but if it’s been on the market for a long time, the seller will have to try to ‘catch up’ to the market by continuing to lower their price…

    Its always a great time to buy! Real estate always goes up, except when it doesn’t, and then its a great buying opportunity…right?

    This is true… Buying real estate is always good… some times of the cycle is harder to purchase than others. When the market is saturated like it is now, it makes it a better time to purchase property. Buying real estate is, in my opinion, the best investment. Over 30 years, if you purchased a property in Edmonton, Calgary would be very similar, you would have averaged a 6% increase per year on your money.. To me, that’s fairly sound!

    It’s not a good time to buy when the market is falling dramatically with absolutely no economical fundamentals to say that it will increase again (which Alberta has). It’s probably a good time to sell, if it’s an investment. But it would be a good time to buy elsewhere….
